Re: Obligations of Insurers inrespect of Rural and Social sectors- Clarification with regard to ASHA workersand MGNREGA workers

प्राधिकरणकोस्पष्टीकरणके लिए अनुरोधप्राप्त हुएहैं, कि क्या आशाकर्मियों और मनरेगाकर्मियों कीउपजीविकाओंके अंतर्गतव्यक्तियोंको जारी कीगयीपॉलिसियों को,आईआरडीएआई (ग्रामीणऔर सामाजिकक्षेत्रों केप्रति बीमाकर्ताओंका दायित्व)विनियम, 2015 केअंतर्गत अधिष्टित दायित्वों के अनुपालनके लिए,सामाजिक क्षेत्रके लिएमाना जा सकताहै।

The Authority has received requestsfor clarification as to whether the policies issued to persons under theoccupations of ASHA workers and MGNREGA workers can be considered for socialsector for compliance with Obligations mandated under IRDAI (Obligations ofInsurers to Rural and Social sectors) Regulations,2015.

अनुरोधोंपर विचार करनेके बाद यहस्पष्ट कियाजाता है किआईआरडीएआई(ग्रामीण औरसामाजिक क्षेत्रोंके प्रतिबीमाकर्ताओंका दायित्व), विनियम,2015 के विनियम 7 केप्रावधानोंके अन्तर्गतमान्यताप्राप्तसामाजिकस्वास्थ्यकार्यकर्ता(आशा) के कर्मीगणोंऔर महात्मागांधीराष्ट्रीयग्रामीणरोजगारगारंटीअधिनियम(मनरेगा) केकर्मीगणोंको ग्रामीण औरसामाजिकक्षेत्र श्रेणीसे संबंधितमाना जा सकताहै।

On consideration of the requests,it is clarified under the provisions of Regulation 7 of the IRDAI (Obligationsof Insurers to Rural and Social sectors) Regulations,2015 that AccreditedSocial Health Activist (ASHA) workers and Mahatma Gandhi National RuralEmployment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) workers may be treated as pertaining toRural and Social Sector category.

यहपरिपत्र तत्कालप्रभाव सेलागू होता है।

This circular comes into force withimmediate effect.
