Currently, General Insurance products are guided by the Guidelines Ref IRDAI/NL/GDL/F&U/030/02/2016 18^th February, 2016.

2.     Guidelines for product filing have been in vogue since 2000 and have been revised from time to time. It has been felt necessary to have Regulations governing general insurance products, even while having a provision thereunder for issuance of guidelines for various segments as may be necessary.

3.     The proposed regulations provide the basic framework and reflect the fundamental principles to be followed in respect of product design and pricing.

4.     Stakeholders are requested to give their comments / suggestions through e-mail to nl-products@irdai.gov.in with a copy to Mr A. Rama Sudheer, Manager (ramasudheer@irdai.gov.in) before 26th April, 2021 in the following format.
