As a Direct Recruit Officer, Mr Satyajit Tripathy joined the General Insurance Corporation of India(GIC) in 1988. Government of India appointed him on 4th September 2021 as Chairman-cum-Managing Director of United India Insurance Company Limited. He is a graduate from   College of Agriculture – OUAT and also obtained a post graduate degree in Management from Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar(XIMB).

He has wide exposure both in the direct insurance and reinsurance and has worked across East, North and Western Regions. He has travelled overseas extensively on matters relating to Reinsurance.  From 2002 – 2006, he served in the newly formed Agriculture Insurance Company of India at New Delhi.

 In GIC, he worked across various Departments like Investment, Crop Insurance, Motor, Marine, Aviation, Miscellaneous, HR & Training and Investor Relations.  He was Chief Investment Officer at GIC from 2015-2018.

 

He was CMD of United India Insurance Company Ltd. from 5th September 2021 to 29th February 2024.
