Subject: National Centre for FinancialEducation (NCFE) - ‘National Financial Literacy Assessment Test’ (NFLAT) –2016-17 for thestudents of Classes VI, VII, VIII, IX and X.

National Centre for FinancialEducation (NCFE) invites all school students from classes VI to X toparticipate in the National Financial Literacy Assessment Test (NCFE-NFLAT 2016-17)being conducted through Online (Within the School with adequate ITInfrastructure and internet connectivity) and Offline (Pen and Paper within theschool) mode for school students of class 6th to 10th standard. The test shallbe conducted in two categories i.e. NFLAT Junior (Class 6th to 8th Standard) andNFLAT (Class 9th and 10th Standard).

National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) has been identified asthe nodal agency for the implementation of the National Strategy for FinancialEducation. In this regard, NISM has set up National Centre for FinancialEducation (NCFE) with the support of all the financial sector regulators inIndia: Reserve Bank of India (RBI),Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), Insurance Regulatory andDevelopment Authority of India (IRDAI) and Pension Fund Regulatory andDevelopment Authority (PFRDA), to further the cause of financial literacy andinclusion in India in a collaborative manner.

NCFE’s National Financial Literacy Assessment Test (NCFE-NFLAT) is onesuch step in this direction. By conducting a national level test, NCFE plans tomotivate school students (of classes VI to X) to learn the concepts of financeand also measure their financial awareness so that they inculcate an importantlife skills at an early age leading to sound financial decisions later.

Registrations have started from 15^th October, 2016. Theschool has to register themselves online. Subsequent to the schoolregistration, student’s registration shall be done by the respective schools.School shall be provided with the option of choosing online /offline test mode.The school has to invigilate the online/offline test for their own students andany assistance required for the online/offline test shall be provided byNCFE/NISM Team.

Important dates are as follows:

* Onlineexam shall be conducted at the respective schools having adequate ITInfrastructure and internet connectivity.

** Offline test would be conducted at the respectiveschool through Pen & Paper mode.

Awards

National School Winners (Top 3 Schools) shall be awarded with cashreward of Rs. 35,000/- each and a Shield and theNational Winner Students (Pair 1+1) of the schools shall be felicitated withCertificates, Medals & Laptops.

Regional School Winners (Top 3 Schools in each Zone) shall be awardedwith cash reward of Rs. 25,000 each and Shield andthe Regional Winner Students (Pair 1+1) shall be felicitated with Certificates,Medals & Tablets/Kindles

The duration of the NFLAT and NFLAT Jr. Test shall be 60 minutes and contains75 and 50 questions respectively. Thetest will be conducted in both English & Hindi only. Syllabus details availableon the NCFE website
